Surgical Tooth Extraction

Teeth are typically extracted by lifting up the gum tissue so the tooth can be removed with a drill, the gum is then sutured closed. X-rays are taken before and after tooth detachment to be sure that the entire root is taken out. This is the best way to extract most teeth. In some cases a tooth may be removed with simple elevation (a type of prying out), but this is seldom done because of potential complications.
